Testimonials

Over the years I have been honored to walk beside numerous individuals and their families as they navigate the difficult waters of recovery from mental health and substance abuse concerns. I do not take this responsibility lightly and am immensely grateful for the faith my patients and their families have and continue to put in me.

I have also been lucky enough to work along side immensely talented and knowledgeable providers whose hard work and skill have been integral in the success of my patients. I continue to learn from and grow as a provider through these relationships.

Patient Testimonials

“Sean's adept at making complex, overwhelming, & highly emotional situations understandable & navigable.”

“I've been in and out of therapy with a variety of providers for over 20 years. Sean has absolutely been the most effective and enjoyable to work with. He's helped me manage my history of depression and anxiety, and work through 2+ of the most personally and professionally challenging years of my life.

Sean's adept at making complex, overwhelming, and highly emotional situations understandable and navigable. He's been a knowledgeable and consistent champion of my best self and a true partner in finding solutions to my biggest challenges. I give Sean my highest possible endorsement. “ -KW

“It was Wednesday in December, and I busted into Sean’s office wanting to call my mom and I said I was gonna kill myself if he didn't give me the phone. Sean looked me dead in the eyes and said, no you won't (which really floored me at the time because nobody had ever called me on that bluff) . Sean also talked about both of our nieces, because I had a picture of her in my hand, and how I should be showing up for her in life. I can't explain it, but ever since that day I've managed to Accept my thoughts and feelings, Choose a valued direction, and Take action. I’ve been sober ever since and celebrated 8 years of sobriety in November 2022. I still feel sad and anxious sometimes, but I'm much more easily able to turn off my struggle switch ever since that day.”

"Sean was a therapist of last resort.”

“I was coming out of a dangerous situation with a previous therapist. I had disrespected my relationships and was not honest with myself in my active addiction. In Sean, I found a therapist who was patient, creative, and willing to meet me where I was. I was able to build a foundation of sobriety and the skills to live a sober life.  Thank you Sean" -DB

“Frankly, Sean saved our son’s life.”

“ My husband and I believe that our son is here today because of Sean’s unflagging support of him, and we will be forever grateful. We know he has a ways to go. But for the first time in a long time, we feel he can get there without the dark cloud of imminent suicidality standing in his way.” -Parent of Past Patient

Professional Testimonials

“Sean has consistently been one of the most responsive and willing case collaborators I have ever worked with.”

“He is someone who truly cares for his patients and is extremely adept at knowing when to push and when a patient needs space. Sean's ability to meet someone where they are at and build the work from there is one of the many things that make him so effective. He has innate compassion for his clients and a belief in their ability to succeed that translates directly into the experience of working with him, one where hope can be felt. On top of all of this, he is a man with real humility. Sean has a willingness to listen to the other voices in the room and synthesize a wholistic idea of what someone needs. His opinion is formed and forthcoming, but malleable, as anyone who works with complex cases knows it often has to be. To anyone thinking of working with Sean, I can only say, go for it. This work is not easy, but it is well worth it. My thanks to him for all the support he has given to my clients and myself throughout the past couple of years.”

-Christian Santilli, Director, Tharros House

“I had the pleasure of working as his clinical supervisee for over a year and always felt safe and comfortable coming to him with clinical questions, both simple and complex.

Sean has a wealth of knowledge and experience to draw from and is open and willing to share anything that might be helpful along the way, including case-related clinical guidance, career and professional development support and relatable advice around self-care, challenging work environments and managing the stressors of working in this field.

As a supervisor, he is intuitive, sensitive, caring and compassionate, checking in frequently and making space for his supervisee’s needs no matter how busy or challenging his day was. He challenged me to be my best, fostering collaborative discussions around clinical problem solving that brought out my strengths and knowledge rather than always answering the question for me.

As a result of working with Sean and seeking supervision from him, I am a more confident, capable and resourceful clinician. I absolutely recommend his clinical supervision services and hope many others seek out the wonderful experience of working with him.”
